Sustainable wood
Sustainably harvested or locally salvaged wood. Grain and character lead the design. When available, I like to use spalted wood for my pieces. Spalting is pigmentation of the wood by naturally occurring fungi. By the time the wood is processed the fungus is long gone, leaving the coloration behind.\u00a0
Food-safe finishes
Beeswax or carnauba with purified walnut or linseed oil. Safe for pieces that touch food.

Sam & Lainey
One maker, one lathe, one very good beagle.
Sam has been making things with wood most of his life: model airplanes as a kid, theatre sets, furniture repair, then charcuterie boards. In 2020 he added woodturning; in 2025 it became his main focus. Lainey supervises.
